KK Band - promoters info
The group KK Band was formed in September 1998. Since then they have been giving regular concerts at home as well as abroad, once in a jazz club, next time in a cultural centre and then at a multi-genre festival.
KK Band plays fresh, pleasant acoustic-electric music at the frontiers of jazz, rock and romantic classics. Their repertoire is based on original compositions by Zdeněk Král and Martin Krajíček.
Apart from the Czech republic, the KK Band has performed e.g. in Austria, Romania, Belgium and Germany.
Musicians:
Martin Krajíček
a player on different types of mandolins (acoustic, electric mandolin, mandola, mandocello, fretless mandolin etc.) and a guitar player, is one of the most outstanding contemporary musicians. Apart from his engagement in KK Band he also cooperates with a number of Czech as well as foreign musicians and groups. He organizes and teaches at mandolin courses and workshops.
Zdeněk Král
performs primarily as a composer and piano improviser. He writes scenic and film music, theatre songs and compositions with a genre crossover – among others for KK Band. As a piano player, author or arranger he has participated in over thirty albums.
Jaroslav Panuš
a contrabass, bass guitar and cymbalom player, with many years of experience in various orchestras and groups.
Jan Dvořák
a much sought-after drum player. Apart from KK Band he has been performing in a number of jazz and rock formations.
